If you like Yomitan/Yomichan on desktop (instant popups + deinflection), I built an Android version of that workflow: PopLingo.
What it is
PopLingo is a system-wide overlay you can use inside any app. You drag across a word, and it instantly shows a Yomitan-style dictionary popup (with parsing/deinflection), so you don’t have to switch apps.
Works well for manga readers (Mihon/Tachiyomi), Visual Novels, Kindle, games, and also video/subtitle apps like Netflix/anime.
Features
- System-wide overlay (use it inside native apps)
- Drag-to-lookup: swipe/drag over the word to trigger the popup
- Yomitan-style parsing/deinflection
- Yomitan dictionary support: term, kanji, and frequency dictionaries
- Bring your own dictionaries: import your favorite Yomitan-format dictionaries and stack multiple dictionaries like you would in Yomitan
- Free / no ads
Play Store: PopLingo
Feedback I’d love
What’s your biggest pain point with mobile lookups right now?
