Would it be possible to add an option somewhere to disable the old radical names? I don’t want to be marked correct when I input an old name without realizing it.

People asked about it, but I don’t think there’s anything for that yet. (They will become wrong in about two years, but I guess that’s not the time frame you have in mind).
In the meantime, the double check script allows you to mark correct answers as wrong, I think. (Among other things). You could try that
