Good luck on this marathon, i’ve added you as well
::high five::
Wow, good luck! It’s great that you’re re-engaging with this as a way to break those addictions. It must have been hard to reset after so many levels, but hopefully you remember quite a lot!
N3 is a great goal! From what I’ve read online and heard from friends who took both N3 and N2, N3 is definitely more useful for everyday Japanese anyway. I’m personally planning on taking the N3 later this year and then the N2 someday in life probably (maybe)
こちらこそ!
To the summit we go
we might go easier on a fellow penguin
@sad-axolotl I just googled what an axolotl is and all I have to say is

@DD_Owl welcome to the team!
Since I’m not a member yet, could someone update my spot in the list? Thank you!

Count me in, boss!
@pensei To be honest, I consider at one point in my life taking the Kanji Kentei lvl1 (even if it seems such an impossible task), the reason being that I’m very interested in Buddhist sacred texts and Japan has active theological research on the matter. But as you can probably guess, the kanjis used are either very ancient or just never used outside of the field.
Count me in too pweaseeee
Thats really cool! At the moment I’m mostly just interested in consuming Japanese media so N3 works for me, but in your case N2+ is the way to go. Good luck!
Thank You ^-^
I’m in, I’ll try to finish a level in no more than 8 days and hopefully I’m be at level 60 at the end of the year!
I didn’t know this existed! This is an exciting goal to aim for after the N1 JLPT. I don’t want to pass the level 1 but the level 3 or maybe the level 2 seems like a legit goal. Thanks for the extra long term goal!
Roughly what N level are you at right now?
Also want to take the N3, but just a little more than half a year seems pretty daunting
… but more than a year feels way too long
I’m around N3 right now (3 years of college Japanese). A lot of my classmates from university took the N3 last december and passed without too much outside-of-class studying
Was hoping you’d say something like “If there was an N6 I’d fail it”. Could use some inspiration
I’m at the lower end of N4 because of my break, not sure if I can manage N3 untill december
Let me in!
Oh… hello.
I just checked when I’d finish this at my current speed and I’m so depressed atm lol
You should totally ask Leebo about kanji on sacred buddhist scriptures
@DarkMelody42 I’m happy you were able to learn something thanks to me, go for level 3, pre-2 and 2 if you want at one point, this could prove very benificial in addition to N1 if you want to work in Japan. Level Pre-1 and 1 are for crazy people such as me who like to look at ancient texts.
@GrumpyPanda @pensei I did one year of japanese classes at uni and I forgot almost everything now, even though i’m sure I will relearn everything much much faster because I kept reading NHK easy News even after stopping (still can read most articles with a dictionary and furiganas)
@johnDoe Don’t depress over your speed, go at your own pace. Try to see if you can go at your most comfortable speed until the end of the olympics, no matter the end level. For me it would be quite an achievement to keep on going for a year at a speed you’re comfortable at ( or you could go even faster if you want
).
@VictorLino maybe I should ask him/her about this, but I think I would anger the gods by doing so
, the only thing I know right now is that the kanji for Buddha is the same as the one for France 仏.
I never knew that
I guess it’s because of the pronunciation
