Olympians (<100 days left!)

This is my first post, so I hope I’m doing it right. Can you add me as well? It’s a great goal to shoot for and even if I don’t make it all the way to 60, it’s good motivation and I’ll be a lot better off for it. I’m excited to try this <3

Under 8 days is still very much a respectable pace, don’t be too hard on yourself, you’re doing fantastic!

I’m hoping to reach Level 15 fairly quickly and then I’ll work out what speed I need to go to hit 60 for the Olympics. If I can stretch it to 8 or 9 days I will because learning this much vocab every week is bound to catch up with me eventually.

You can use the spreadsheet from @grumpypanda. It’s up in the topic, you can calculate how fast you have to go, but iirc at your level 8-9 days is fine for the end of the Paralympics

Hey there, and welcome to wanikani! I love your username (blue/fairy is a really tiny kind of penguin)! I’d suggest you try the Race to 60! December 2020 JLPT thread, since their deadline is a few months after ours, so you could get to level 60 in time.

232 leeches on guru is a lot, I think you should really focus on them before aiming for 0/0 because it’s gonna rid you of quite a lot of additional reviews. And also I just noticed the 79 leeches in apprentice, that’s also a bit too much to have a sane amount of reviews, especially given your amount of non-leeches apprentice items

This penguin is so shiny and cute :heart_eyes::heart_eyes:

You’re right. I’ve never seen leeches as a big problem by now, but looking to the numbers they are pretty high.

During my evening reviews session I’ve been able to reduce by 6 my leeches count, so I think it’s a doable task to reduce them even more. I’ll try to keep an eye on them and not let grow without control.

You can use leech training scripts if you want, I think all of them are in the API Thread, looking at your number, I’d say that you are adding somewhere around 100 additional daily reviews only due to leeches. That’s why it would help you tremendously to reduce them. Good luck, it’s not a simple road but I think a healthier one!

Because I’m apparently not good at copy-paste, some of the formulas in my spreadsheet were buggy (Depending on how many fields you used, calculations were off by 0-3 levels)

Fixed everything, so if someone out there is still using it, you should get the updated version.

I used dots and skipped around 2388 years, looks like an appropriate time to reach lvl 60 on the so-called “fast levels”.

It recognizes 7.5 as a date, not a number, so I wouldn’t even know how to fix that :'D
I could make the disclaimer even bigger though :upside_down_face:

you should put a pre-emptive script function before computing that detects if one put a date instead of a number and either errors out or replace the dot by a comma :eyes:. I’m no excel expert but I can do it in python

There is a function to remove the auto format which I could then use the replace function on to replace . with , and then turn the string into a number again.
Or you could stop trying to break my thingies D:
