Like I have to finish the entirety of the reviews or wrap up session and finish the full 10 before it goes through?

Either. I was just wondering whether you were sure the reviews were queued for submission at all. You can exit reviews without finishing the session

I’m not much here on the forums, but I did want to drop by and say a big thank you for developing this app. It has always bothered me that I couldn’t work on WK when I am traveling without internet connection. Now it’s finally possible :smiley:

One question / request, would it be possible to integrate something like the following script? It expands automatically the item info once you answer a review or lesson. Especially when you want to review items more in depth then just skimming through them, that really helps. Thanks for considering.

If I understand you correctly, that’s already possible. Have a look at the last two settings on the Lesson/Review Settings screen. If you set those to always show all information, I think you’ll get exactly what you want.

Perfect, I also noticed that I had ā€œLightning modeā€ enabled, hence why it just breezed through without showing the info :slight_smile: For me disabling that and setting the others to Hide information not quizzed yet, is exactly what I was looking for.

Love the app, but I don’t appear to be able to edit my own reading notes in lessons. This might just be on already learnt readings but its a bit of a nuisance.

You can. During lessons, reviews, or just when browsing the subject database, you can always edit the notes for the current subject via the ā€œMy notesā€¦ā€ menu option. From there you can edit your reading notes, meaning notes and synonyms.

Short(ish) answer no, long answer maybe.

No, in the sense that I already ask the font ā€œtell me how wide and tall this text will be if I render itā€ and then I size the question box accordingly. I spent quite a bit of time making sure I got all the calculations right for that, what with baselines, extenders and all that typography lingo.

If Otsutome still gets clipped, then I’m pretty sure that is because the font is misbehaving. Basically the font is refusing to draw within the lines. Most fonts behave themselves, so this is not likely to be a problem with other fonts in general. But I can’t make a font behave, and if the font lies to me there is not much I can do about it.

Having said that, an ugly way to compensate for this would be to recognize when the app tries to render text in Otsutome and artificially add some extra space, which would probably render the missing bits there. But I’m not sure until I try it, and I can’t automatically detect when this is the case and adjust, so it would be an ugly workaround for just this one font…

I’ll put it on the list since this is an issue with a font that I’m including in the app myself, but for imported fonts there’s no simple way except to add a mess of customizations that would just be to work around bugs in fonts that should really be fixed by the font’s creators…

Just want to say again how much I love this app. Considering I am on it about 2 hrs a day on this app, its really has made my learning much more enjoyable. Your work has made a difference!! Its a shame you cant put in app ads or donations etc considering the amount of time people are using the App!

Ps. Small feature requests or suggestion - it would be good if there was a upcoming reviews summary of all kanji or words only. Similar to the Ultimate Reviews script. Also, A summary view of each level showing kanji and writings only. Its good for quick revision.

First off let me say that the app has been a godsend. I have to spend a fair bit of time out of the house for work, and the app has helped me not fall behind on WK. I have recently been having some issues with it though.

Basically I’m having trouble getting the app to sync my progress with WK. When I first started with the app everything was fine, but now they’re not syncing up. I have tried flushing background tasks, clearing app data, and creating a new API key and replacing the old one. Doing this I have at times been able to get a clean sync that shows my current level/lessons/reviews/etc, but then if I go and do my reviews on the app it doesn’t show up on WK. Are there any further troubleshooting suggestions other than what I’ve already done? I guess the next step is delete and reinstall the app but I’m wondering if there’s something else I’m missing.

I don’t know if this has been addressed elsewhere in this thread because I’m couldn’t find a ā€˜search this thread’ function anywhere. Thanks in advance for any help or advice.

Were you using the version Ver3.01 (RC) of the font? In such case, I am sure the font creator would appreciate your feedback.

Just to follow up on my own question, it seems like there is some significant lag in the sync process when on my home wifi. If I use the force sync on FD and wait a bit WK eventually catches up to my progress. When I first started using FD it was syncing immediately upon arriving home. I’m not sure what’s causing the lag now, but the delay made me think it wasn’t syncing correctly at all so I got stuck into troubleshooting. Not sure if this is a phone issue or a network issue, but it seems like everything works correctly with the app, there’s just some lag in the process on my end.

This probably means that the background sync isn’t triggering properly. There are lots of possible causes, but most likely your device isn’t allowing background operation or is killing the app for battery optimization. If the app syncs normally when you open it, but not before, then that is almost certainly the cause. I’d recommend looking into your device’s app settings and battery management settings for possible causes.
