Neologisms in the Japanese Language

Interestingly, Chinese is still accepting new hanzi characters into the language. For instance, when new elements are discovered or created in a lab and a new name is given, they are also creating new hanzi in China. The character for nihonium is 鉨.

I’m not sure what the policy on new kanji would be in Japanese.

For a moment, I read this as being kanji elements. Those radical physicists, always risking the universe by colliding particles together to see what new things emerge.
