Need help with song lyrics (最後のセレモニー by 三石琴乃)

Recently I found this song and I’m really liking it (sweet nostalgic J-pop ballads rule ) . However, I have some trouble with two lines from the lyrics.

TRUE BLUE

TRUE BLUE

The lines in question are third line from chorus and last line from second verse.

  1. TRUE BLUE両手広げ季節(とき)が行く前に - while I see literal meaning, I can’t make full connection with the preceding and next line. Is that “TRUE BLUE両手広げ” some kind of idiom? It evokes some associations with flying away for me (as in extending the hands/wings into the sky), so could that line (together with the next) mean something along “Before time comes to fly away/go our separate ways, please accept this one little girly tear”?

I have no idea what’s with those buttons

  1. English in Japanese song lyrics frequently doesn’t make logical sense. Think of it like you would use “shalala” or something in an English song.

  2. This is the graduation-day tradition of asking for the second button from the blazer or jacket of a graduating student you will miss. Translation is “I don’t need your second button any more”

Thanks, so the second mystery is solved  I supposed it was connected with some custom/tradition I didn’t know about. I was able to translate it fine, but couldn’t figure out why that button appeared there. Now it makes sense.

As for first question - when we remove that gratuitious english, we’re left with
少女の淡い涙ひとつ受け取って下さい, which still is somewhat mysterious for me. Is my interpretation from first post plausible, or am I completely off? Whole song is about graduation, and saying goodbye to unrequited love, so it would somehow connect, but I’m beginner after all.
