I got confused for a second…“it’s not Friday (here) yet is it?”
Hehe. We have so many bank holidays in Denmark in May, haven’t had a “normal” week in a while, I’m very confused too.
We had one here in Canada on Monday, so my week has also been thrown off
And why do people love people who treat them so badly? 
I’m already heart broken that Hachi and Nobu are not together, but not only that, they are both with someone being violent to them. It’s almost too much for me at this point. I was remembering the series pretty well up until now, I wonder if this is around where I’ve stopped reading before. 
And the layer of 義理, 責任, and 建前 that is piled onto that. I’m getting better at accepting that the culture that Japanese stories are told in work somewhat differently than mine, but effffffffff. You all need to talk to each other.
That said, this one had a lot of heavy problems looming in the background, but it was a fun respite of a chapter.

He is indeed very sweet and thoughtful at times, but to me that doesn’t count because of the violent episodes. And also probably the child was conceived the night where he went to her to spite Nobu. I like how even in the glimpse of the future we saw, it is unclear if they are still together or not at that point. And I also don’t remember for Nobu, I think I remember that he said 好き and that he would make her happy no matter what, but not those words I think?
I’m betting that they’re not together in the future and that Hachi gets it together and goes it alone. As for 好きvs 愛しているーmy take on this is that the first refers to romantic love and that the latter means you’re my family ie it’s a real commitment
Even the violence aside (not that I’m saying we should overlook it, but actually that it’s not even the only bad thing) talk is cheap. I think at best he’s jealous of her attachments to Nobu especially and others in theory. His band means way more to him than she does. She also knows he’s after other women.. it’s definitely not shown to us, but are we to assume he has some other girl(s) on the side too? Or definitely will in the future..?
The way I’ve heard it explained is that 好き/大好き are love, although just 好き also encompasses like. 愛してる is like really passionate love that you see on western TV and people openly say how they feel to each other all the time. 好き is more “the moon is beautiful tonight” but what I’m actually saying is that you’re beautiful tonight and I love you, I just don’t put it into words.
I feel like I even remember Shoji saying something like “I’m Japanese, you can’t expect me to say 愛”.
I think we are supposed to believe that he has some on the side, like the one in the UK (I forgot the name). I don’t think he sees them actively, because he’s so busy with the band to begin with, but if he’s on tour or in a different country, I don’t think he’d refrain himself.
Or is it just a bill folded in half…

Hopelessly behind here, but I did manage to finish Volume 13. I do have a question if anyone’s still around. (I had two but managed to figure the first one out while typing it here

My question is about 学ぶ. The definitions I see mean “to learn” but in the sense of studying deeply, like in a classroom or at university. Here it seems to be more like “to learn from experience”. Is that a typical usage, or is something being implied here that 菜々 is deeply studying タクミ’s behavior.
The more common meaning I think is the classroom setting, but I’ve definitely heard it for just general “learning”. From kotobank:
