True, I remember thinking “damn.. one more”… At least they don’t smoke in FF!
North American Yazawa Ai shirts are on sale at Uniqlo now! Go go go! ![]()
(Hooray for having an itchy mosquito bite on my hand that woke me up at 5am
).
!!! The day has arrived!
I was having a comically bad “late to anime school” type of morning. I’m usually at my desk by 8:30, but this morning it was 9am on the dot when I arrived. Even though I was late I shamelessly whipped out my phone, downloaded the Uniqlo app, and was able to get the two shirts I wanted! (The Black Stones shirt and the Happy Berry shirt). I even paid extra for the shipping instead of the free “ship to store” option because I WANT THEM!!
Toast in mouth?
Wow there’s even a Wikipedia page for it, what the hell:
遅刻する食パン少女
I can totally picture the scene now that I’ve read the article but I had no idea that there was a term for that haha.
The article also reminds me that I should try and watch サザエさん again for listening practice (holds the record for the longest-running animated television series and as it is broadcasted on Sunday evening, in Japan apparently you can say Sazae-san syndrom for Monday Blues)
At 24mn per episode you can make it through in merely 42weeks assuming that you watch 12h (or 30 episodes) a day
Or let’s have a book (anime) club to watch it together weekly! It started in 1969 so we might still be at it in 2100
Is サザエさん available anywhere? I once watched a partial episode that someone had uploaded to Youtube as part of listen practice with my Japanese teacher, and at the time wasn’t able to find any more.
I found plenty on Youtube and didn’t look for more, it’s probably not the newest but doesn’t really matter to me (the top hit does say 2025 uploaded 2 days ago so it could be the newest after all https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=サザエさん )
Thanks, @Akashelia! Some of those are pretty old, so I’m not sure why I didn’t see them before.
I just went to my friend’s place to borrow more Nana’s volumes now that we are finishing volume 5, and I had completely forgotten that there is a volume between volume 7 and volume 8!
Not sure if we should read it too with the club. But it could also be an opportunity to have a break for those who are trying to catch up. It doesn’t follow the main story, it’s basically a big omake.
It’s out of order on Verasia so I don’t have it, but they do offer it. I’ll also be in Paris in two weeks, I can probably buy it there.
But if it’s an entire volume of omake-style content then oof ouch owie
Ooooh wait how did I not know about this?! I need to see where I can order it ASAP…I would be super down to read – though I second @simias that the omake content is D E N S E!
Also I ordered the “World of Nana” book and it should be here in a week or so! Fan pages on Reddit and such are going crazy because apparently it contains an interview with Ai Yazawa in which she promises to continue Nana someday lol. So exciting of course, but I’ve been waiting for 10+ years so I won’t keep my hopes up!
I think I’ve read that somewhere too, maybe on wikipedia? Ah yes it was:
And there are also some chapters that didn’t make it into a new volume after volume 21 that we might need to try and hunt down!
I’ll make a poll after Volume 6 to decide what do we do after Volume 7, depending on who managed to get volume 7.8 and if we want to read it together or just have a break or both ![]()
