That’s level 30 in less than 2 years, if you study vocab and grammar on the side you’ll have a very solid Japanese foundation by then. Slow and steady wins the race.

I was hoping at the least to make it to level 60 in like 3 years even if I was going the fastest like 7 day pace

20-22 days per level is about 3 years to reach 60. That’s about the same as my level up time, and I’ve been doing WK for about a year. The 7 day pace is level 60 in a year but is difficult to sustain: see My Journey of 368 days (+ The Ultimate Guide for WK :open_book: ) if you want to understand how to go full speed.

Personally, I wouldn’t worry too much about your WK speed, and focus on other aspects of learning the language, like learning grammar, learning vocabulary, and starting to read.

Yeah you’re on the right pace for it then. But do keep in mind that you’ll know enough kanji to start reading Japanese long before level 60, that’s why I mentioned level 30 in my comment.

speaking of that it’s kind of a struggle to find reading materials in japanese for some reason, manga are stupid expensive among other things… doesn’t help that I don’t really like traditional novels either

I would try for ten lessons a day if you want to be level 60 in three years. Honest to god, levels 1-30 are vastly more important to Japanese literacy. Leveling after getting to Level 50, increased vocabulary is more important than kanji.

Since you’re a beginner, I wouldn’t worry about novels just yet. You could start with the free graded readers from Tadoku once you start learning a bit of grammar.
