I’m not sure yet, but once I’ve gotten a little more caught up to the 怪人二十面相 club then I will probably have a better idea of whether I can handle both at the same time. I’ll keep you posted.

@MaraVos Would it help you to have two weeks in between (i.e. start from March 14th, which gives you a 4 week overlap with the IBC)? I think I could justify that, but 4 weeks feels too long to me given everybody else voted for 1 week…

Cdjapan doesn’t have 後鳥羽伝説殺人事件 available, annoyingly. Amazon has it, but they’re more expensive for shipping usually and don’t pack very well. I wonder if there’s anywhere else worth trying…

I got my copy from surugaya. Could be worth a shot. (Make sure you have the language set to Japanese when you search.)
Yeah, surugaya have it, but they don’t seem to have anything else I want to go in the order with it…
They have free shipping promos super frequently, so if you keep an eye out for that then it’s not necessary to order more than one thing.

Yes, I’ve heard that so I had a look, but the website also said there was a “900 yen sales commission” per transaction, which sounds like “not actually free and you still want to buy a few things at once”.
I managed to find a couple more items I wanted (including an out of print non fiction book that’s been on my wishlist for years) so I’ve now placed the order. It was indeed effectively a flat 900 yen for shipping, which is still a pretty good deal.

Now that we’ve evaluated the three series we picked initially, it’s time to determine what to read!
Please choose the series you would like to read going forward (for longer series we will choose ~10 books from the series):
I voted for the two I would be willing to read more from, but also open to a new series. I’m tempted to nominate ST 警視庁科学特捜班, particularly the color books (ex: 黄の調査ファイル) not for their literary merit but because I find them hilarious 
I suppose something light and easy(er than recent picks) to read may also be appreciated 
Hilarious in what way? I don’t need literary merit if the books are fun.
The plots are a bit ridiculous (cults, bdsm, etc. The high shock value cases) and you are constantly reminded of which police unit you’re supposed to be rooting for because they’re all very attractive. I suppose cheesy would be a good word for it? I enjoy the books though and think they’re a nice break between heavier reads

So far most of us would like to evaluate more series, so my suggestion would be to wait a few more days, in case other voters sway the vote significantly, but if not, then I’d be happy with evaluating these two series as well!
