Haha yeah, that stage can feel a bit overwhelming
but it also means you’re making real progress. Running into that many new kanji in just a few pages is intense, but adding them to Anki is honestly the best move long-term. Words like 呟く popping up repeatedly actually help a lot with retention after a while. And it’s kind of fun when you start noticing an author’s favorite kanji or themes—makes the reading experience more personal in a way. Keep going, it gets easier! ![]()
Never heard of them before, are you from Germany?
They are definitely not mainstream
Also, although they still exist, I feel like their prime time was in the 80‘s and 90‘s. So I‘m not surprised you haven’t heard of them.
Super cool band; I love Halber Mensch. Yeah I think it’s less a question of where you’re from and more how much digging into obscure music movements you’ve done. I feel like if “industrial music” as a term means anything to you, you probably know them.
砂肝 - すなぎも, gizzard
科白 - can be read せりふ and have the same meaning as 台詞
茶飯事 さはんじ
matter of no importance; commonly occuring thing
罵詈雑言 (ばりぞうごん) - all manner of verbal abuse
Encountered this yesterday when watching Oshi no Ko S3, and then again today when watching Mob Psycho S2… Seems like the universe really wants me to memorize more yojijukugo, I’ve encountered 一期一会 (once-in-a-lifetime encounter) twice this week as well
Just for fun, I learned about: 火災保険 (かさいほけん) - meaning “Fire Insurance,“ or so I’ve been told. I found it while looking for a different definition on jisho.org. The word was so unique that it’s stuck with me. I cant wait for the day when I can use it in the wild!
