I guess reading helps after all 
Literally 30 seconds ago I learned the word 猫背 (ねこぜ). It means “hunched” or “hunched over.” And it makes perfect sense–ねこ（猫) cat, and せ（背) back, since a cat’s back is rounded when it sleeps.
So I have encountered:
戻る (もど): to return
戻って来る: to come back
戻って行く: to go back
I can understand the difference between 戻って来る (getting back in the same place where I am) and 戻って行く go back in a place far from where I am talking (where the listener is?). So:
- Is it correct? Sometimes I struggle vs the points of view listener/speaker
- where does 戻る places itself?
- Yeah いく is away from where the speaker, くる is towards where the speaker is in this case.
- I would say it’s useful when the direction doesn’t matter that much (not important). And it’s also used in a more abstract sense, returning money, returning something to its original state, etc. etc. Basically all the returning that do not actually have to strictly do with movement.
Examples for 2:
来た道を戻る → direction would be redundant (戻っていく) since it is implied by 来た道
税金が戻る → abstract concept. Direction not relevant.
記憶が戻る → same as before, restoring a state doesn’t make sense with direction. いく and くる used here would have the ongoing change meaning
My most recent word is いぎありい! ( 異議あり!).

Sometimes when watching the show I yell this out when i disagree with the subtitles

詐欺/ scam sagi I actually learned this word a month ago in Japan when two-blue suited Japanese city workers ran after me as I exited a train station, handed me a packet of materials and tried to explain 詐欺 to me. If only I could learn more words in such a dramatic fashion.
暗殺者 (あんさつしゃ): Assassin
Learned 暗殺 (あんさつ) in a recent lesson and looked on Jisho how to say assassin.
Huh. That might have come up in this week’s reading of Bocchi the Rock, except the word is so well crossed out that I genuinely can’t tell.
… Why? Did they think you looked particularly vulnerable to scams? Or did they think you were in the middle of committing one? Or possibly, were they in the middle of committing one?
I look a little like the cartoon versions of potential scam victims in their anti-scam materials…
For me it’s ヤドカリ/宿借り (hermit crab) which I find kinda cute.
The kanji for すみません is 済みません…
済む means To end, aka the feeling when the job is done put the ease to other people’s mind. But when its not ending, means that “I’m sorry that you can not feel at ease for this matter is not done”, or “I’m sorry for bothering you”.
My mind is blown.
