More on マイ and waseigo: “My” Phrases in Japanese English/「マイ」から始まる和製英語 – Yamanashi Kei

thank you! super cool, I’ve never even heard of waseigo

If I’m being honest, the most recent word I learnt was 膣内 - perhaps you can guess what sort of stuff I’ve been reading in order to come across that.

無悔

Just reading something. Does this mean no regret or regret? No regret makes sense but translator says regret.

Can you post the whole sentence? I can’t find 無悔 anywhere (unless you were reading something in Chinese).

Aye, I was about to say before you edited. 12.3 million results in Chinese. :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m reading it off someone’s neck at a gathering lol. Might be seen as strange if I took a picture. It may well be Chinese. I could just ask the person I guess but I’ve found people don’t often take well to this. Which I don’t understand because why would you write on yourself if you don’t expect that people will try to read it.

Guess I’ll have to ask them then.

Chinese. No regrets.

Probably because 90% of the time, they’ve discovered it doesn’t say what they think it says. But yes, it means “no regrets” in Chinese.

Did you have a specific question, or are you just thinking out loud?

If it’s the question I think you’re asking, don’t forget to consider the grammar that’s added by the よう

Edit: Hold up. This is the Most Recent Word You’ve Learnt thread. Thought it was the Short Grammar Questions thread, for some reason…

不良少年

Juvenile Delinquents, pronounced ふりょうしょうねん。

Found it in the first volume of よふかしのうた, on page 29. I’ve learned 3 of these kanji, but not the second one, which I just learned means good. On second thought, I recognize it now - idk why it didn’t click as “not good boy” XD
