So as the title suggests, I barely passed the JLPT N4 test last December and I was slowly and very lazily preparing myself for the N3 exam this July. I didn’t know they had limited slots for each category and the application for N3 was cut off as the quota was filled, I have to take an exam anyway as I’m in a hurry so I applied for the N2 exam. So the thing is, I wasn’t that good of a fit for the N3 exam to begin with and now I’m taking the N2, I think I know about 500 Kanji and about 2000 Vocab now, only 3 months left to study. Any suggestions guys?

Study hard, it is not impossible. Do a lot of jlpt exams, mainly from circa 2000 year, because exams then was much harder
Sorry to say - it’s a huge leap.
You likely need a further double the study hours that took you from no Japanese to passing N4.
I would focus on N3 study points first. You can still sit N2 for the experience.
