When do you guys intend on adding the lattices back? Especially considering that the pages themselves are still accessible, this should be an easy thing to include…
But it’s really easy to fix
They took them away because they had bad performance. They might put them back if they find out a way to do it more efficiently. Meanwhile if you’re alright with using scripts I have one that puts them back in the menus.
What are these Lattices?
WK previously had a bunch of pages showing your progress in lattices, like the ones on these pages, but more of them
Ah. Thanks. Looks cool.
WHAT IS THIS?!
is very yummy, anything with a cream cheese/cheesecake filling is very yummy. The biscuits are very light, almost a flaky pastry style rather than normal biscuit. Google ‘lattice slice’, ‘lattice cheesecake’ or something similar like this https://mouthsofmums.com.au/recipe/lattice-slice/
Back to these lattices, not as yummy but very cool!!!
@oldbonsai It’s April 7th and these changes do not appear to be pushed yet. Is there any update on when we can expect these changes to happen?
I bet the acceptance tests failed…
Ha! Almost. I was fixing up one last accessibility thing yesterday afternoon and introduced a typo in the JS. An easy fix, but rather than rush it out right at the end of the day, we’re pushing it … right now!
It’s live, everyone. I’ll follow up with responses to the feedback in just a couple.
My Gravatar is a partially transparent PNG, so it overlays on top of the default icon photo. Is there any way to remove the default background so that partially transparent PNGs can be used?
I’ll put it on our laundry list, but my brief research definitely has a few security concerns from the tin-hat-wearing security-paranoid voice in my head.
General comments about buttons vs other HTML elements, accessibility concerns.
I did more research, and buttons are good. We’ll put it on the next round of menu updates, but we were out of time for the styling revisions that this would require. Instead, we made sure that they behave like buttons: they work with
space as triggers and they have good focus styles (we think).
On top of that, we added all the ARIA attributes that dropdown menus need to work nicely (expanded, controls). If there’s anything we’re missing, let us know.
General discussion of the default avatar and Gravatar blocking
There should be a default avatar showing up even if you’ve got gravatar blocked, so there’s that. If visibility still an issue, we’ll come back to it and maybe put some kind of internal border that gets covered up by the avatar image.
Ooop, didn’t see that one coming. I just saw another bug for keyboard navigation, so we’ll try and address both later on today.
