Meaning of どんな. Help with translation

Hello everyone, I am far behind on my grammar learning and I decided to attempt to translate a song as a way to gamify the grammar learning for myself. The song is HikaruNara by GooseHouse.

My specific question is related to どんな in this sentence.

煌めくどんな星も君 を 照らすから

And here is my breakdown of the words and grammar.

煌めく どんな 星も
kirameku donna hoshimo
(kira) glitter 煌めく to glitter, twinkle, sparkle
(hoshi) star
also
どんな what kind of

君 を 照らすから
kimi wo terasukara
(kimi) meaning: you, or buddy or friend
object marker
(tera) shine, illuminate
から because, since

My understanding of どんな is normally “what kind of”. Translations I have found online say “No matter which shining star it is, it will illuminate you”. Without knowing any better, I read it more as “what kind of star glitters because you shine”.

I am looking for help in understanding this grammar point. Does the どんな and も interact in a way I haven’t learned?

Thanks for the help!

Yes, it’s that も that makes it “no matter which”

どんな星
what kind of star

どんな星でも or どんな星も
no matter what kind of star, any star, etc.

でも/も has that sort of relationship with question words. Like 誰 “who” vs 誰でも/誰も “anyone; everyone; whoever.”

Thank you for the help. That does explain it, I figured it had something to do with the も. Your example of dare vs daremo allowed me to google more information about the interaction of も and question words.

I guess I didn’t even know the right thing to search to find my answers.
