Made up my own Vocabulary

So I just finished Level 5. I figure I used what I learned so far to make up some vocabulary. Let me know what you think if I am accurate or not.

  • 川口River Outletせんこう A point where a lake turns into a river.
  • 大火空Infernoだいかくう Basically A giant fire storm.
  • 早金Down paymentそうきん To pay something early.
  • 代肉Fake meatにくたい Like beyond meat products.
  • 水冬Wet winterすいとう Winter where it rains throughout.

I’m confused by this. You do know these aren’t real words, right? Except for 川口 but its spelt かこう.

The mouth of a river is where it lets out into the sea, and that’s the same in both English and Japanese. (The word is 河口 かこう・かわぐち or 川口 かわぐち.) The word for a river source actually doesn’t use a kanji for river at all: 源頭 げんとう (source; origin + head).

You were close with 代肉. The word 代用肉 だいようにく actually exists, and it refers to either meat substitute or cheaper meat used in place of beef or pork! There’s also 人工肉 じんこうにく (man-made meat) for the first sense.

Cool that I was close with a couple. Im looking forward to getting to those vocabulary one day.
