After playing Nioh 2 extensively (and Nioh 3 recently) I’ve taken an interest in the late Heian-period conflict between the Minamoto and Taira clans. I would like recommendations on literature covering this topic. I already know Heike Monogatari, but I suspect it might be slightly too archaic for my current reading level, having been compiled in the 1200’s.
