Tee-hee-hee!

For those who don’t know: It’s funny because it’s an ambigram, like in Angels & Demons. References are funny because they give the people who understand them a sense of belonging, which triggers a feeling of ease that is similar to the effect of comedy.

Now, now, it was a harmless misunderstanding
… and, to be fair, my jokes have a high miss rate almost by design; I like to make up stories that skirt the boundaries of plausibility, and when interacting over the internet, that boundary can become quite blurry.

(Actually, I think I might’ve given my colleagues some trust issues; these days, whenever I tell them anything even remotely interesting, they’ll often ask me if I’m joking before giving their thoughts on it.)
