Now, now, it was a harmless misunderstanding
… and, to be fair, my jokes have a high miss rate almost by design; I like to make up stories that skirt the boundaries of plausibility, and when interacting over the internet, that boundary can become quite blurry.
(Actually, I think I might’ve given my colleagues some trust issues; these days, whenever I tell them anything even remotely interesting, they’ll often ask me if I’m joking before giving their thoughts on it.)
