YUYU日本語ショートショート: 帰りたくない (Japanese novel for listening practice)
6th August
Approx 16 mins
Understood most of it, just missing a few expressions here & there. Maybe a little more challenging than listening to his normal podcasts. Will look for a few more of these.
Oh no. Does Byakuya knowing Hibana mean she’s also a teenager? まほあく might not be so cute anymore… I’d figured she’s an adult since she’s not in school, but high school is voluntary. I suppose we’ll see next ep if I’m dropping this after all…
Another episode of Spy x Family today. Classes start tomorrow! I’m going to try hard to maintain my daily listening routine until the end of August, but we’ll see how it goes…
A new one for me, I bought season 1 of Haikyuu and watched episode 1 without subtitles. I just about managed, there were some hairy parts though. Am I allowed to say I’m not so sure about this beloved sports manga/ anime? It just feels so overly dramatic! Maybe I just haven’t found my sport yet and I don’t empathize with the all consuming fire passion
I almost never identify with the sports passion but get caught up with the characters. Haven’t watched Haikyuu in a long time but remember enjoying the drama of it all.
Easy Japanese Podcast
生憎(あいにく) の使い方: 18 August 2021; 8:45 mins
手巻き寿司知ってる?19 August 2021; 11mins
(Learnt that you can use the term 具 for 手巻き寿司 fillings)
I keep trying Haikyuu but it just hasn’t grabbed me. A lot of beloved anime just don’t work for me (One Piece, Cowboy Bebop…) but I keep taking stabs at them in hopes that one day I’ll be in just the right mood…
I finally learned how to hook up my Switch to the TV for this lol
Anyway, I think I’ve completed the first chapter. I’ve gotten a bit farther than this before, but not a whole lot, so next time I play, I should be getting into new territory.
Watched some Spy x Family over breakfast. Might also listen to my new J-Pop playlist on the way to my first day of classes if that’s the energy I need…
After yesterday’s post, watched latest episode of Spice & Wolf. And this morning listened to Sayuri saying’s most recent podcast about her summer holiday in Mongolia
There’s a rock formation that’s rumored that if a couple climbs to the top together, they’ll get married. Sentarou’s here with the girl he likes, and you know what he says? “There’s no way a woman could climb that rock. Bon, wanna climb with me?” Okay
Oh, Fukuoka is in Kyuushuu! I thought the dialect sounded like what I remember of the Hakataben in 2.43.
Listened to the vocabulary and example sentences for the first chapter of Quartet. I knew most of the vocab already. Some of it seemed surprisingly easy. I wonder if it repeats vocab from genki, but now you’re supposed to learn with kanji? Also started the next chapter of fushigi sweet shop, was comprehensible so far.
Yay! Back on it I was surprised, too, so maybe it’s like you said, or since we read so much, my feeling is we’ve already informally covered a lot of N3 grammar and vocab.
