Thanks, I started listening to Nihongo con Teppei after you suggested it. I like how clear he speaks and how he repeats things several times, but I still don’t understand most of it… hopefully soon.
I did sign up for Satori Reader and I’ve been reading the “Human Japanese Extra Credit” , the sentences are short enough and I feel that I can read/listen to most of them and understand them, which is very cool. I try to do at least one chapter a day. Listen to it first and then go line by line, reading it first, then listening, making sure I understand it, and making notes of things I want to study.
I’m about to finish level 3 here.
Satori Reader is great! I’m gradually working my way through it.

Definitely pausing a lot for lookups in this chapter of コーヒー so when I finish this I’ll probably take a break with a children’s audiobook for chiller listening times.

Welp my progress got a little derailed last week…my cousin ended up visiting for the Thanksgiving weekend so my study time massively dropped so I could spend as much time as I could with her. I haven’t really done any listening in a week

Today’s 日本語の森 grammar video:

And listened to YUYU’s very オッサンっぽい video about spending his weekend washing his car.

I watched the first part of The Boy and the Heron in japanese, but there was no japanese subtitles option this time, which meant I needed to focus a whole lot more. I really enjoyed it and it gave me a bit of faith that my listening skills aren’t as awful as I thought it was very fun <3
Also, I’ve done my first week of this challenge!!
I’m obsessed…
used this video to practice today so I could do listening and speaking practice at the same time!
A splendid wonderful fabulous spectacular extravagant singular episode of nihongo con teppei

Trying out another grammar channel. This one might be a good replacement for 日本語の森

YUYUの日本語Podcast#314
「僕」はいつ使う?「俺」はいつ使う?
約22分
Having relistened to his podcasts, Yuyu notices that when speaking about himself he uses different pronouns and so tries to explain when & why he uses 僕 & 俺 & when 自分 or 私 might be used instead.
Really impressed you’re listening to an audiobook!

Any suggestions for movies (preferably on netflix) that has everyday language would be amazing!
Not a movie, but I recommend the reality Japanese TV shows Love Village and Boyfriend - I’m not generally a reality TV fan but enjoyed both of these & they’re both available on Netflix.
Ooh Boyfriend sounds good! I’m queer so I really love queer romances. I’ll give it a go next, thank you!
As for TV series, there’s also Midnight Diner and the very sweet The Makanai.
