LGBTQ+/GSRM Book Club! Starting Mid September

Actually I’m not sure it counts as trans, it’s just a non-binary character.

Edit: (Although I’m not perfect with LGBTQ+/GSRM terminology, so I might be wrong. I just mostly have heard “trans” used for binary cases.
But even if it could be used for non-binary, too, in this case we don’t have enough biological info to decide what’s the protag’s birth sex exactly, so we can’t decide if they’re cis or trans.)

This is definitely above my level right now, but I’d like to participate in a few months when I have more vocabulary and grammar knowledge under my belt!

@amagi Your OP’s now a wiki!

@Joeni I found one!
@JenK (I just really love your energy…)

Now… NightshadeSoup…

So that I can welcome you to~

And the message boards~

Don’t worry this is way above my level also. But I’m surprised how much I can already read with only 10 levels. Consider heading to our sister thread:

LGBTQ+/GSRM members of WaniKani

…for more general discussion. We can’t wait to see you back here when you are ready to jump into reading, AND hopefully the next books will be easier. (sorry the difficulty level really is my fault…)

I hear you! I switched the category to non-cis/non-binary… which I hope is a better umbrella… I’ll update my post!

Take the time to check out the FAQ and GUIDE if you haven’t already.

There’s also a lot of good stuff on the forum to help you, like:

The New And Improved List Of API and Third Party Apps

I hope your Japanese learning journey goes well and that you enjoy your time with us on the forums.

and, as always, thank you @JenK, super mod! <3

Just found this Book Club, this is AMAZING!!! I want to join in the winter after this (brutal) semester is over. I’ll vote once that time comes :grin:

You last posted 7 years ago! And this is your first post since coming back? I’m honored.

Thank you for the googoo doc whoever put it up! :bowing_woman:

What can I say? The queers made me do it. Lol… my very long hiatus :sweat_smile:

Ahhh, thank you all for the warm welcome! I’m going to keep up with this thread one way or another, and I’m considering just reading the first book or two in English just so I can keep up, lol. I’ve been meaning to read さびしすぎてレズ風俗に行きましたレポ for a while now, anyway!

@Joeni Thank you for all the resources!! I’ll be sure to check them out over the next day or two. I’m already using Bunpro for grammar but I’m finding it a lot harder then WaniKani (these mnemonics are magic!). I haven’t used a forum site since I was a teenager and I’m still sort of trying to remember how it all works, is there like a beginners question thread or something if I need it?

Good luck!

I’ve been lurking for a bit, trying really hard to resist joining because I’m the type of person who easily overcommits, but now that there’s a vocab list…count me in! Plus I’m really hyped to read 不可解なぼくのすべてを, so I figured I might as well just order the current book along with it, with shipping being as expensive as it is. Let’s hope my copy arrives soon!

Me right now. When people accidentally join against their will

I’ve been pulling out ぼくのすべてを now to compile a vocab list early, so hopefully that will be an even eaiser read for everyone, the grammar looks much simpler than レズ・レポ.

Thank kami-sama for that!

I had to fill out a stress-check form at work today, and I was really surprised by how many kanji I had learned from this book. It is so exciting seeing kanji that you’ve just learned on WK in the wild.

I’m starting the vocab list for ぼくのすべて now…
So far it is MUCH easier to read.

I’ll also link it in the first post. I think level 10-20s can feel okay to buy this one.

Looks like there’s a bunch of ebooks on sale on Amazon right now. Amazon doesn’t actually show you the original cost to see how big the discount is, but it looks like all three volumes of the やがて君になる light novel spin off are discounted based on the price.

volume 1
volume 2
volume 3

The first volume of the manga is also free to read until 10/15.

It says not available when I click the link…

I’m interested in this! Where can I go to get a japanese copy? Also, how skilled should I be, I only know basic grammar and vocab, will this be too hard for right now?
