Level 60 in 362 days

Hello Wanikanians. Today I too reached level 60.

It sure was a struggle particularly at the last 5 levels, since I am a “fire and forget” kind of guy that abandoned radicals from an early stage and isn’t satisfied unless he can answer things within 1.5 seconds. Hence my fail rate is high at an average of 90% throughout, and reviews stacked up to a daily 500 at its peak. I’m surprised my employer didn’t notice the dropoff in throughput thus far.

Keep in mind that I have had a large pool of pre-existing knowledge of japanese, and finally decided to get the kanji bit done once and for all year ago. That’s probably also a reason I was this impatient, haha. I’ve woken up in the middle of the night a few times to get that earlier review in for this app. Anyways I’m happy I’ve gotten it “done”.

Now if you’ll excuse me. I have reviews in the 1000s stacked up now, since I abandoned vocab reviews for the last week as I was attending The N1 日本語能力試験 lately (and failed (probably)) that I can now のんびり work through at whatever pace.

皆様、これからも頑張りましょう。

おめでとう!
From what I’ve seen from other people, I think your review success rate is pretty solid compared to average - I’ve seen plenty of people with lower, and not loads who have a much higher one. Good luck with burning everything else and whatever else you decide to do next!

お褒めに預かり、恐悦至極に存じます。

It’s definitely much easier if you do aim for a higher one though. Every missed success adds to your workload resulting in a vicious cycle if you are already at your limit.

Next is definitely further vocab study. Wanikani’s pool of vocabulary does not suffice for N1. And of course using the language
