GOOD JOB HWDHJSAIUDHASJDSAJDOASHD no that’s not my username.
Seriously, congratulations! Any plans for what’s next?
do it plz i wanna read it
Congratulations
Plans mostly involve reading as much as I can since I fINALLY have the time to do so… I’ve started some short stories but it’s taken ages to get through because WaniKani sucked up so much of my time…
Yay! Congratulations!
That’s awesome! I’m nowhere near 60, but if I keep on track with my average, I should be done in 780 days, just a tad longer than you. That being said, I’ve been going slightly faster than my average on my past 10 or so levels. (Average says 13 days).
Just curious, does it get harder or easier towards the end? Theoretically it would get harder, but if I remember correctly, I think there aren’t that many kanji in the last few levels? Idk maybe I’m completey wrong.
For me towards the very end, it became harder and my accuracy dropped- but that’s only because I started doing double the lessons per day (30 instead of 15) at around Lvl 50. I wanted to get it done quickly
Through levels 40-50, it was definitely easier because I already had a hang of the schedule and memorising kanji became faster and easier. I could use the radicals to get an idea of what the possible readings could be, etc.
For me (now at level 53), there’s a lot more work (200-300 reviews per day), and there are more kanji and vocab that are new to me.
But my ability to memorize them has dramatically increased. So it’s not that tough.
And it’s already so much easier to read, I’m just thrilled.
It was maybe a few months ago when all the Enlightened things first started coming back after multiple months. I was worried that the influx of old kanji/vocab would add a huge amount of reviews and I would not be able to do it.
So far I have been fine but some days there are a lot of reviews. If 200-300 every day is typical, I might not be able to keep up, but I do have occasional days where I build up that many. But when I look back around level 10 or something, I remember struggling a lot harder to remember readings and the kanji in general. Now that I’m in the 20’s I feel like I get a much higher percentage on my reviews and as @Kawaiian17 mentioned, you can guess readings even if you look at a kanji and completely blank out on what it is.
I definitely have a lot more kanji/vocab knowledge than grammar, which some might say is not the right approach to learning Japanese, but I find it so much easier to comprehend grammar when I know each of the words that are being used instead of having to spend a bunch of time figuring out the words that are being used.
I will never understand how people maintain a 97% accuracy rate all the way to 60… Im doing my best to keep my at 89%… I thought mine was high too until i saw this.
