I usually worry more about my apprentice items than I do my Guru or others. As long as it’s not effecting your estimated daily reviews, you should be ok.

My understanding is that there were originally 50 levels and they added Levels 51- 60 after a few years. I don’t think they are bonus, I think they are essential. While I am not sure how we can measure “basic literacy” (measuring against Joyo frequent words etc. may not be the most accurate method.), it depends mostly on the type of medium you want to consume like Manga, anime, Japanese shows, News etc. Each has its own version of frequently used terms etc. So you can focus on those aspects by consuming those materials if you haven’t already started.

So… lol… Confession. I reset to level 11 last week.
The reviews were just getting over whelming and not fun, and I absolutely have to keep WaniKani fun. But I just leveled up a second time to level 12 today. And WaniKani feels good again.
I don’t know what my next goal will be. Will I keep up a quick but resetting pace.
example.
Get to 30, reset to 21, get to 40, reset to 31.
Or should I regain the levels that I perviously had and then drop down to a two week per level rate for all the levels after that.
Time will tell… whichever one feels the best I guess.
