Noice, I got a couple bumps in my level up graph in the twenties but hopefully you can avoid burnout and all. I have sort of an excuse for one of my breaks in 2024 because of the hurricane but I’ve slacked off significantly since then.
Congratulations! I’m working my way up there, but I’m still a way off from you. 9 days on level 19 is a seriously impressive pace, especially if you’re only reviewing twice a day! I’ve been trying to get a minimum of 4 review sessions per day in, in order to keep the review batch size down (then again, since I’m working Bunpro and WK at the same time, it’s probably a slightly different situation) but I’ve been keeping an average pace around 14 days per level so far. Level 8 is looking like it may be faster than that, but I’m not expecting or trying for too fast of a pace.
Either way, keep up the good work! Nice streak too! I hit burnout pretty early on in my lessons, and lost a 75+ day streak, but I’m working my way back up to that, and aiming to surpass it for sure! I’ll aspire to the 260+ that you have going so far!
By the way, how were the graded readers in the readathon the other day? Anything you struggled with or were they kind of easy? I think the tadoku school of thought encourages looking up little to nothing. My unsolicited recommendation for harder reading when you feel ready is the colorful border children’s books. Each major publisher has a children’s book publishing line with bright colors to make them stand out. Blue border is aotori bunko, green border is tsubasa bunko, orange is mirai bunko. Think the difficulty level of junie b jones or something but for native japanese kids. I think these are a useful steppingstone towards harder books meant for adults if the graded readers feel too boring or something.
The end goal in addition to shiny 60 badge is being able to read so an early start helps.
I don’t think it was too bad. I can definitely tell my vocab knowledge is way ahead of grammar knowledge, so there were some grammar points I didn’t understand. I’m gunna try to spend more time on genki and bunpro so its not so uneven. Only if I didn’t know what was going on at all, that’s when I looked things up, which happened occasionally. If I was finished with genki and had equal grammar knowledge, it probably would be too easy.
I’ll definitely take you up on your suggestion though, when I’m a little more skilled. I think children’s books is probably the next move, but my grammar knowledge is just so bad 
probably after genki 2? I’m guessing that’s probably a good time. Until then I think I’ll try to occasionally read some of the harder graded readers and really just lock in on progressing with grammar.
It’s really nice to kind of have a rough plan now instead of being lost and not knowing how well you’re doing. Reading kind of grounds you in that way so it’s nice
