Hello,
I’ve been using WaniKani for half a year now (at Level 22) and never had any issue of this sort.
When I do Lessons, I use the arrow key to progress from one tab to the next. However when I do a batch now, starting with the switch from the “Meaning” to the “Reading” tab it simply doesn’t work anymore. It looks like it’s going to switch over for about one or two frames and then it always reverts back to the “Meaning” tab. Curiously this only happens with the second item of the batch onwards, the first has no issues. This problem persists on all browsers on Windows for me, the only way I’ve managed to get it to work is using Safari on iOS. I’ve tried the obvious solutions (restarting browser, device, removing extensions, clearing cache) and nothing affected it. Since it has never happened before today I assume it’s a bug. Would be nice to hear if other people are experiencing the same or have ever experienced it before.
Same here! Only started happening today. If I keep using the right arrow on lessons/reviews, it just stops at the second tab (“Meaning”) and I have to manually click the final tab and then click the right arrow key to advance to the next kanji/word.
Glad to see your post, looks like it’s a bug for a lot of us then. Hope they see this
i’ve got the same issue. in case it matters, i’m using wanikani on:
Windows 10, firefox version 140.0
navigating to reading using arrow keys from either meaning or context plays the pronounciation sound, then instantly navigates me back to the tab i came from. clicking on reading manually to navigate to the tab works perfectly fine however.
I have the same issue on Google Chrome MacOS Sonoma 14
Happening for me as well on Brave.
I have also noticed similar behaviour. For me it has been happening for about a week, but has been intermittent. When it has occurred, clicking the arrow multiple times has always eventually worked. The first few times I figured I must have clicked the wrong place. The next few times I figured the click area must be very small and I needed to be more precise, but that was not it. As I had not seen anyone else mention it I figured it was something on my end.
I am experiencing this problem as well. Windows 11, Firefox 146.0.
Sorry for the inconvenience. I made a change yesterday that allowed the keyboard shortcuts to be used when the caps lock button was active and this introduced a bug. I have resolved this now and everything should be back to normal.
