Anyone else tried playing the games in Japanese and have some tips?
They are a great way to reinforce vocabulary because you are going to read the same moves/ability/names literally dozens if not hundreds of times.
However the names of moves/abilities/etc are also all kana even in newer games that use kanji so what I do is look up what the move “looks like” written in kanji, and when I read it in the game, I try to picture the kanji in my mind.
