Learning all vocabulary words bundled together

The default settings learns all the vocabulary word of a kanji bundled together. For example, one learns the kanji 進. You then learn vocabulary word 進行, 進む, 進化, 進行, etc. all in the same day. This was fine in the beginning.

Now I prefer to spread the vocabulary words out in separate days. So I click ‘advance’ when learning new lessons and only pick the new vocabulary 進行. I make sure I don’t pick any more 進 vocabulary words that day.

Anyone else learn it this way? I find by spreading new vocabulary words throughout days, I tend to remember the kanji better. It will also cause less confusion when some vocabulary words look similar or have similar meaning. for example, learning venus, Jupiter, Saturn, mars, all the planets on the same day was too hard for me.

I am just lazy and accept the default settings for vocabulary. With some words where I am not as solid with the kanji reading, I find it helps to repeat the same reading several times during reviews. However, I only learn 7 items per day, so it’s not too much repetition.

Yep, I always do this. I hate having a chunk of words that have the same kanji, it gets confusing. I usually go in the lesson picker and select vertically instead of horizontally like this:
