Apparently there was a [contest](https://sousaku-kanji.com/) to create a new kanji this year! The prompt of the contest was: 100年後まで残る漢字を作ってみませんか or, Why don’t you create a kanji that will last for 100 years? These always amuse me. It’s amazing what sort of meaning you can get across with subtle modifications of existing kanji. It’s like… the typographical equivalent of communicating in third-tier memes. There’s one in the second division that’s from a girl in London. ---
