Jourm is finally gone

“Nothing” most certainly does not rhyme with “form”.

I was going to say that that tracks after the plot twist in level 53 with his character, but I checked the 浄 page, and not only did they rewrite Jourm to be Joe, but he is now the hero of the story instead of the villain… For those who missed it, a record of Jourm’s misdeeds remains.

Good riddance :joy:

Very late to the thread, but I only just noticed they’ve stolen my beautiful boy. It’s actually reinforced my mnemonics because whenever I come across a ‘Joe’ mnemonic I remember who once stood in his place and shed a single tear.

It’s ok, he’s gone to live on a farm in the countryside. Because he’s a farmer.

As a non-native English speaker, i never knew the word Jourm or the name Jourm, thus I just used Jaw for long one, and Joe or Joanne or Joko (an Indonesian name) for the short one.

Take it from me, being a native English speaker doesn’t help in the slightest with this one.

Jourm will be back as soon as we all agree about how to pronounce his name.

It’s pronounced じょう, evidently. The R and M are silent.

And now the じょう has also been silenced forever

Yeah - I’m expecting that to happen by around the twelfth day of never…

Farewell, Jouermn!

3+ years after WaniKani, I randomly thought of Jourm while trying to fall asleep tonight and googled him (mostly to see if the first result would be WaniKani). I am truly devastated to hear of his loss. This marks the end of an era. From now on, only true OG WK’ers will remember Jourm the farmer and his giant hands. I hope one day to see him as an easter egg in a game or something.

I always visualized him as an old Nordic farmer, and now he vanished in the deep dark woods in the Fjords, leaving his herd of well-dressed sheep and helpful wife Jo-Anne behind…

Farewell, my ol’ big bud. You’ll always be in my head- erm, heart! :broken_heart:
