JLPT 2024!

I didn’t pass the N2 this time, but I was pretty close. N2 try 2. This time I pass with flying colors and feel totally relaxed during listening.

Practical question, can I bring stuff as long as it stays in my bag? Like to revise on the train? Would my bag be allowed into the exam room with me or do I need to leave it in a locker or not bring it at all? Am I overthinking this?

Best of luck to anyone taking the test this weekend! We’ve got this :muscle:

This would depend on your specific location, but when I took it in December they just made everyone pile their bags at the front of the room with no fuss as to what was inside them. Many people need purses/backpacks for everyday use, so I’d imagine a bag plan is in place at most testing locations. Good luck!!

My experience in Japan was that you could have your bag on the floor.
They are strict about smartphones and you should switch yours off (no alarm or ringing).
They were also strict about what can be on the desk. Best to have a spare pencil and to have an eraser.
Where I did the exam, there was no clock. A watch was needed. No smart watches alllowed and I think they recommend analog.
It could be good to bring some snacks and hydration for the intervals.
Best of luck!

At my location in December (hotel ballroom) we had everything under our chairs. Bags, jackets, etc. Not being able to hang the jacket over the back of the chair surprised me, but less of an issue this time around (if you’re in the northern hemisphere).

Damn, N2 was brutal. Actually thought I had a chance of passing before but…

I’m mildly paranoid because the train is running late, but I have an hour of leeway to get there on time so it should be fine.

I wonder why I took N2 today knowing I did not do any prep at all. :grimacing:
The reading section was ROUGH. :face_with_spiral_eyes:
On a brighter note, the weather was lovely! :sunny:

good luck to everyone taking the JLPT in Düsseldorf right now!
I got all excited and second-hand nerves from everyone waiting. I’m currently waiting at the test center while my bf is taking it, good luck to him 〜
sadly i didn’t get a spot this year to take the N2 again and get a better score than last year, but well that’s okay haha, i’ll try again another time

Finished the N4. Vocab and grammar went really well. Listening was rough though. A couple times I had zero clue what was going on and more times than not there where at least two answer that seemed equally possibly correct to me :smiling_face_with_tear:

Maybe you can get one for December, registration opens in two days! (Is it really that competitive? I’m starting to get worried for my own chances)

Nah i don’t think so, I’ll be going to Japan in October for work for half a year again and don’t have a home adress or anything yet that’s required for the application there, so I’ll just do it sometimes later, maybe in summer 2025.
