Rather than mucking around with randomized fonts, is there an easy way to restore review back to the clean fonts we had years ago? Before the whole site got flowered up for no reason?
My review inputs are in effing cursive or something and the kanji have holes in their lines.

Search for “restore the old font” and you can find a thread about one way to do it.
If that doesn’t work – and since this is definitely a thread for mucking around with randomized fonts – you might want to ask in other threads that are about the font changes, or even create a new thread asking your question.
if you see only a slight font change, it is probably switching from the wanikani default font to the fallback font of your browser (most likely noto sans, cjk variant if you are using firefox on linux) because it wasn’t able to load the custom font selected by jitai script.
I know several months have passed, but have you been able to make it work? if not you could check in firefox web inspector network tab the css and fonts sections for errors, along with the console on the bottom.
as long as I’m aware firefox default configuration let it use linux system fonts with no particular restrictions, unless your operating system customized it to block them.
