I was wondering if you guys can recommend amazing authors similar to doctor seuss so I can start reading. Books like that or even a good beginner manga series would be awesome! I don’t know anything specific, but graded readers may be a good place to start your search, they are books written for Japanese learners, and may be more accessible than native materials.

I feel like Dr Seuss would be a nightmare to read as a foreign learner 
Can you tell us a bit more about your Japanese level? I second the suggestion for graded readers, even though they might not be by a single amazing author.
