I’ve been ignoring typing for the simple fact that I won’t need it in the foreseeable future and most likely ever. But just now I saw a thread where someone claimed to have typed the incorrectly in a review. Does it mean I’ll need to type at some point in the WK reviews? Cuz I’d hate to waste time learning to type at the expense of reviews when I can do it now itself.

Nope! I’m learning just for communication purposes and increasing my arsenal of languages, and I don’t think I’ll ever need to research something in Japanese. I’ve been a weeb and Japanese fanatic for so long but never had to! So I basically ended up skipping Tofugu’s lessons, but since it takes just a day or two, I’m sure I can do it any time ^-^
I’m just asking rn cuz I don’t wanna waste time when I’ve reviews waiting to be done >_<
How do you intend to do reviews without typing?
What do you mean learning to type? Do you know hiragana and katakana? Because if so, you just type it into the reviews and it automatically converts.
I started yesterday, so I basically know nothing bout future reviews >_<

You mean WK converts Romaji into Hiragana or Katakana? I know how to read both, but if reviews require me to type em directly, then I’ll get right to it ^-^ thanks!
Yes, it converts it for you. I will say for the future, if you ever decide to, learning to use a Japanese keyboard isn’t too hard and can probably be done in about five minutes. Good luck!
Yes, you can type in romaji and it will automatically be converted into hiragana.
Typing isn’t really that hard. WK has an IME already set up for you so you don’t have to set up another keyboard or anything (although I would highly recommend setting up one of your own at some point because it makes things much easier for googling and making notes and such. I’d recommend Google’s).
You mostly type things out the way they look in romaji, here are just a few extra tips.
-Double up consonant sounds if you want to type a small つ so to type out say まって you would type it as “matte”
-When you want to make a ん, especially at the end of a word, it’s typed twice so ほん is typed as “honn”
Actually those are the only things that come to mind. It’s surprisingly not too bad, just takes some practice but you’ll get plenty of that with your reviews 
Sorry, can you clarify here? Exactly what do you intend to do with Japanese? Just read? Maybe listen and speak?
I feel like from the list Japanese language skills - reading, listening, speaking, writing by hand, typing on the computer - typing on the computer is by far the easiest out of all of them. By orders of magnitude. Like, any kanji you know the reading of, you can type, without even needing to know how to actually write it.

Even if you only look stuff up in English. Don’t you think is you knew Japanese, you’d then want to look stuff up in Japanese?

Well, I suppose to be able to understand and talk cuts it. I just like knowing languages! I understand I may not be as serious as some of you here, so I apologize if I offend in any way >_< I just didn’t know the deal with typing, so didn’t want to assume anything about being easy. Thanks for clarifying tho ^-^
Actually, I can already watch anime without subtitles! My vocab is fairly good, tho only with prompts ^-^ And all my googling I managed through Romaji and copy-paste cuz I was too lazy to get a Japanese keyboard

You don’t need a Japanese keyboard. You install Japanese input, and can switch between IMEs, with one keyboard.
Assuming Windows 10, but any other OS had a way as well.
Thinking in the end, if you really see typing as an impediment to learning, then WaniKani may not be for you. Probably what you want is something like Anki.

Haha, I never really said that. My original intention was this: if I was suddenly expected to know how to type on Japanese keyboard and it took some time to do so, I’d be wasting time which could be easily saved rn, and I didn’t want that. So I’d asked for clarification, which I’d gotten a good while ago! I really don’t know how it got so out of hand 
Perhaps my inability to build coherent sentences is at fault here.
Actually if you put a single ‘n’ at the end in the WaniKani reviews, it’ll automatically convert to ‘ん’ as soon as you hit enter or spacebar, so you don’t need to worry about that. But I’ve made the mistake of forgetting the double n in the middle of a word, and that will screw you up. Specifically, for 三人 I accidentally answered さんいん (‘sanin’) instead of さんいん (‘sannin’), which is obviously wrong. So it’s better to teach yourself always to write ‘nn’ from the get go ;).
Wow I just realized I typed it wrong both times, gg. Second one should of course be さんにん
