Is ちらし寿司 related to 散?

I just learn the vocabulary 散らし (scattering leaflet, flyer), etc… But I was wondering if this would the also the same ちらし as in ちらし寿司 since chirashi sushi is like scattered sushi.

Yes. It is scattered sushi instead of formed or rolled sushi

「ちらし寿司」の語源は、寿司飯の中、あるいは上に様々な具を「散らす」という意味で、単に「ちらし」と呼ばれる事もある。

"The origin of the word ちらし寿司 is that various ingredients are “scattered” on top of the sushi rice; which is why it’s also simply called “ちらし”.
