[iOS] Tsurukame - native app with offline lessons and reviews

Mine is OK, so I wonder if it is something local to you?

Have you logged into the main website recently? It’s possible you were inactive for too long, and you need to un-hibernate your main account on the website. The app doesn’t currently handle this case. (See Accounts in hibernation show no errors Ā· Issue #767 Ā· davidsansome/tsurukame Ā· GitHub)

Yeah I logged in some days ago and also yesterday and today so…I don’t think that’s the reason…previous version was also working even if not perfectly. I’m doing my reviews and lessons through the mobile site as for now.

This app is awesome!!! Thank you!!! Let me know if you want me to write an in depth review on it’s awesomeness. I don’t have a login at GitHub and I don’t know how to search all this conversation because it loads little by little.
Question/Issue: I’m having issues with visually similar kanji 病&疲. On the website, they appear as visually similar kanji, but not on Tsurukame.

Hi @Joyful,
I just submitted a PR to fix this. See Fix #451: Update visually similar kanji from API by Deadpikle Ā· Pull Request #840 Ā· davidsansome/tsurukame Ā· GitHub. Hopefully it will be merged/fixed soon. Thanks for bringing that up!

Thanks so much!

Hi everyone!
I might be asking for a lot, but would it be possible to add pitch accent information to Tsurukame (perhaps as an optional feature)?
I know that pitch accent isn’t the main focus of WaniKani or Tsurukame, but since many of us spend around an hour on it every day, I think it would be a great opportunity to train our ears by both hearing and seeing the pitch patterns at the same time. And yeah, it’d also save me from (constantly) hopping over to JAccent just to see if I got the pitch right
As always, thank you!

Hello, folks. Does anyone know what userscripts I can use to replicate the features Tsurukame has? I almost exclusively only do my reviews on my phone because I use WK to practice flick texting along with studying.

But at the same time there’s moments where I don’t want to touch my phone and the app’s features are something I kind of take for granted.

If any of you have recommended userscripts that give me an experience similar to Tsurukame on a desktop browser, I’d be happy.

Thank you!

I’m really enjoying your app. Thanks for making it available for free. If I could ask for an improvement it would be the option to make the kanji font size larger.

You can already! Under review settings.

Thanks! I don’t know how I missed this

FYI, this fix/adjustment is now available in the TestFlight version of the app. Enjoy!

Would it be possible to have an anki mode only for its meaning ? So I only have to type the reading.

Now it’s both.

Today my answer was marked wrong. I know I can click ā€œMy answer was rightā€, but in this case it would be nice if ć²ć‚‰ć be ā€œrejectedā€ instead of being marked wrong. If I’m asking too much, I understand. This program is amazing and I really appreciate those who maintain it!

I believe you could do that by modifying tsurukame/ios/ReviewViewController.swift at master Ā· davidsansome/tsurukame Ā· GitHub but you may want to create a personal fork to do this because more settings requires more maintenance, etc.

Thanks for letting me know.

Apologies if this has been addressed. I’m using iPadOS 26.x in Anki mode, and the answer box is now appearing over the answer. This happens in landscape and portrait mode. Thanks.

Does anyone know if the app is still actively supported?

The beta version has expired, and the official iOS app’s last update was 10 months ago.

i have no idea, but i have been using the app everyday with no issue

Just want to say thanks to @davidsansome for making this app. I would have rage quit if it weren’t for you good sir.
