I’ve been really enjoying the app so far, but I was curious, is there any chance you might consider implementing the Back to Back user script into the app as a toggleable option?
Hey! The Android app is not ready, even though I built it with react native I had to write some native code for iOS in some parts, so porting those will take some time. Since I’ve been seeing that there is interest for an Android app I’ll start working on it soon, and when I have it I’ll send the email to beta testers
Thanksss!!! And yes, I’m planning to add it today/tomorrow (if you’re talking about getting meaning and reading for subjects back to back during reviews). I’m also not sure what people prefer when getting a review wrong in this case - I can either ask it right away again or add it randomly later to the queue of questions
can I be part of these so called beta testers
Of course!
Hey! Thanks again for implementing both of my suggestions! That speed deserves a tip ![]()
Thank you very much! Such a useful tool.
Hey not sure if anyone else has encountered this but after I do lessons and I get some wrong, I run into a glitch where it shows me the same words repeatedly. Even when I get them right it doesn’t move on or take them away from the queue. The only way I was able to bypass this was to exit and redo those lessons…
There are some other minor suggestions I have like seeing the number of lessons per level with the lesson picker. And also being able to swipe to move onto the next lesson (and not press the arrow button).
I really appreciate you continuing to make updates and so far I’ve been using your app daily to get through my stockpile of ~500 vocabulary lessons ![]()
Thanks everyone for the feedback!!! ![]()
This should be live now! You can set it up in the settings screen. I’ve also added a “What’s new” section in the settings so that people can keep track of the updates.
Thanks for flagging this, someone mentioned something similar before and I’m looking into it. I haven’t been able to reproduce it on my end, but I’ll try to have a fix soon.
I know this is a pretty weird UX but you can actually swipe to move to next/previous lessons if you swipe on the bottom part of the screen (where the arrows are). I made it this way so that it doesn’t interfere with the tab swipe in the lessons.
And glad this app was helpful ![]()
Heyoooo! I was thinking about another UI feature. Is there a possibility to automatically change from light mode to dark mode depending on sun position/time. As it’s already implemented natively in iOS. Thanks!
Thank you for all your work on this. Another thing I miss from WK reviews is the notification of what level you move up or down to after getting the answer right or wrong. Is it possible to incorporate that? It might also be a cool option to let people know when the next review of that “card” will be. Thanks again!
Yes, I’ve updated the app to now have this setting
I’ll try to add this in the next few days, this one may take a bit more
This should be available at the bottom of the screen of each subject details. Or do you mean you want to see it somewhere else?
Thank you for being so responsive! Below is an example of see when I am reviewing. たいとう was correct for the previous “card” and it would be cool to know the next time I will see that card again and also what level I’m at currently with that card. Thanks again!
An Android app would be amazing, it looks great on iOS already. I’m up to beta test it if required as well!
This is so cool! When I do reviews or lessons in the app, it doesn’t seem to update anywhere - the number doesn’t go down in the app homepage or the website homepage. Is there something I’m missing for getting that to save?
If I do lessons/reviews in WaniKani, it updates fine in the app so it is observing the update! There is sometimes a ghost 1 review that won’t let me click on it as well in the app.
Thankss!! I’ll let everyone know whenever the Android app is ready, might take a bit of time though.
This is weird! If you have a video where you can show what’s going on that’d be helpful. There’s no setup required to make the reviews/lessons work, just having a wifi connection so it can sync with the WK website. If this error persists try uninstalling and installing the app again.
This is added now into the app. Since it feels like a pretty good feature I made this the default, but it can be disabled in the settings screen.

I would love this for my android phone…
This is amazing, thank you so much!
