Personal Opinion
I’ve read this book and enjoyed it so much I ended up reading the entire series up to its newest volume at the time (volume 8 came out recently which I haven’t read yet). The main character reminds me of Bocchi due to her massive level of social anxiety.
Pros and Cons for the Book Club
Pros
- Quite popular - It placed second in the tankobon category in the 2022 Kono Light Novel ga Sugoi! rankings and fourth in the 2023 edition). It’s also getting an anime adaptation.
- Fun character dynamics
- Stable quality throughout the series. (Consulted with @Naphthalene when I was still reading book 1, no spoilers)
- There is furigana, but not fully. Good amount for the IBC
Cons
- I think the series is still ongoing. The web novel on syosetsuka ni narou has properly ended, though.
