I’ll have to look into that but I do a lot of international purchases and it seems to work ok most of the time.
What’s frustrating is that I don’t get a clear error message explaining what’s wrong, instead the purchase seems to go through and then a minute later I get an email from Amazon.jp telling me that the payment was finally rejected.

A great series it is. With some excellent characters and an interesting story that sort of stiuck the landing. Animation was of course excellent, as expected of the studio
I just discovered the next book club pick 妊娠カレンダー is on Audible (Germany)
There is a promotion going on here until end September (just €4/mo up to 4 months and you can keep one book per month, so you could subscribe for this, select it as your book for that month and then cancel), so perhaps a good opportunity to check your local Audible for this book. I know some of you have figured out how to use Audible JP from outside of Japan, but for anyone like me who can’t be bothered, this is a good opportunity as it’s otherwise slim pickings on Audible for Japanese audiobooks outside of Japan. I have no idea how much regional availability overlaps (e.g., if you can expect this to be available in other regions)

In case anyone has missed it, we have started 妊娠カレンダー a little early with a “preview” week (including the first ‘calendar day’ of the first story).
It is for those people who are itching to start, but also to help support those who are interested in reading this IBC pick at a primer pace (slowly speeding up the pace and reading over ~15 weeks instead of ~10 weeks).

Oh funny you should nominate that one! Saw a translated version “Japanese bestseller!” in a shop last month and the title picked my interest, I’ve immediately put it in my to-read list! (took a picture of the English book to be able to look up later what’s the Japanese title)

The German version (Frau Komachi empfiehlt ein Buch) has made it to the SPIEGEL Bestseller list, but I don’t know for how long.
I thought it looked familiar, I actually got it gifted (in English) and haven’t it started yet

I’ve read once a Japanese book simultaneously with the translated version and it was really a fun experience. Sometimes it helped me understand sentences that I had trouble parsing, and sometimes I was getting more info in the Japanese version that were lost in translation, was a cool feeling!
Close! I live next door in the Netherlands Thats sounds like a nice idea though, I might give it a try when the book gets picked by the club!
