Intermediate Japanese Book Club // Now Reading: セーラー服と機関銃

Night Market.

Poor Your Name. :joy:

I agree that reading two at the same time or committing to them back to back would be a bad idea.

I’ll be skipping Night Market, as I’m focused on 獣の奏者 and committed to reading a book on my own in the near future.

I’ll be skipping Night Market because I don’t already have it, and can’t easily get it in the current circumstances…

That’s a good point… I don’t know if I can easily get it either… :scream:

Hm, we could delay the next book further? But it’s hard to predict when things will get back to normal.

I guess everyone who’s been advocating for ebooks will have the last laugh.

Good for those who can stand them.

BookOff also ships books so you could have it delivered during the lockdown.

Oh! That’s a game changer!
Well, I guess we are back in business, then.

Ah, but wait, that doesn’t help people who aren’t in Japan

Alright, poll time then.

  • I have my copy of the next book
  • I do not have a copy, but can procure one
  • I do not have a copy, and cannot get one soon
  • I’m not planning to read that book with the club anyway

Well, it looks like I will be in charge of the next book, then. Except if @Iwasneverhere makes a last minute comeback to the forums?
Also, not that many people have voted on the schedule. I hope that means that people don’t mind either way, rather than meaning we will only have a handful of readers (not that it’s a bad thing, small groups can work well too).

BTW I just noticed that Night Market is on sale at BookWalker until April 23rd - the reduced price is 385 Yen :joy_cat:

Feels like book club strikes again…

While this is still being sorted out, can someone give me possible breaks in the book? Roughly every 10~15 pages if it’s too annoying to provide all of them…

Here’s all of em. Guess I should edit it a bit  This is the paperback. Seems to be divided into two books.

This is when you notice that the person selling the book and the one that propose it in the bookclub is the same person. Everything is linked.

I’ll say. Why don’t you just list every page? :stuck_out_tongue:

There’s a lot of breaks, 'kay? ^^

Hahaha, nice try  But although I proposed a lot of books recently, this one is not among them (I‘m not even planning to read it as I‘ve given up on horror by now…)

Wow thank you! I’ll need to have a careful look at that list…
Does the main text start on page 7?

That’s exactly what a guilty person would say. I suspect multi-account. Even multiple book sellers. The mystery is getting more clear by the day, IT’S A TRAP
