Sometimes (rare occurance) the input turns into kana and no matter what i do, letters are transformed into kana even when I shouldnt be inputting it.
Most of the time where I click for information about the word im reviewing, for example to add synonim or see what I did wrong the afromentioned problem also appears or the input cannot be focused at all, i cannot type and have to refresh the page and do most of the reviews again.
I expect that it is due to your caps lock being on. I believe that during reviews, WK will convert any input to katakana if shift is being pressed. At least that is the behaviour I have seen.
Yeah their usage of ‘kana’ is a point of confusion for me - did they mean to say ‘katakana’ instead of ‘kana’, in which case you’re likely right about caps lock, or did they actually mean ‘kana’ and are seeing hiragana/katakana when the input should be English
I dont touch capslock nor shift during reviews.
Yes, romaji is being converted to hiragana even when the input should be in romaji. It’s random, most often happens when I do he reviews first thing in the morning, its like browser is not yet working properly lol
i guess the keyboard shortcuts could help avoiding this issue (if i can change my habits of few years). Probably still wont work when i add a synonim. The issue probably being that the input focus is still on the synonim input, not the review input, ill pay more attention next time it happens
I see, so going back to the question - what userscripts do you have installed?
Also, do you have Japanese keyboard/input installed? (Edit: for clarification, I’m asking this in case you’ve accidentally selected the Japanese keyboard, but in this case you’d be seeing hiragana everywhere you type, not just WaniKani)
