My guy, you’re being rude, and no one wants it. The irony is baffling to me: for someone that claims everyone else needs to learn English, you’re the only one in this thread that I can tell ISN’T a native speaker of english. Learn to have some decorum: criticizing opinions is okay, criticizing people and calling them lazy, ungrateful pieces of garbage isn’t.
No one in this thread thinks they’re god’s gift to humanity. Guy was just explaining his experience with wanikani, and why he isn’t continuing. it’s not like he’s begging for someone to convince him to stay. This is all just feedback that’s he’s giving because he wants it to be better. It’s also in the wanikani section of the forum, so… there’s nothing unusual about a post like this?
Japan has their own problems as a country too, and a lot of it is social aspects, including “ghosting out of your life”. it’s part of why I’d never actually want to live there at all.
Not trying to be rude or anything but your study resources were quite bad
duolingo for japanese is quite bad and rosseta stone even more so
i never heard about pimsleur
And nhk easy is good reading practice
so 2 of your study materials are really bad ngl if u changed rossetta stone and duolingo to an actual text book (like japanese from zero) you would learned so so much more
Peace out bro
And geez, what’s with all those mountains of text. Like this dude “I’ll try to be brief” and blows up with a short novel
Just chill guys
Because I wanted to talk to the other people posting in here…
Maybe it would be worth to continue reviews and stop lessons. I find the last levels really difficult, the words are not common, some kanjis get only one word in vocabulary. However, I was talking about floods in Europe with my teacher recently, and the kanji for flood came out on level 56, felt nice to know it.
I also must agree that some mnemonics are just… not a mnemonic, but a sentence using specific words? Example:
- When a shellfish becomes a drunkard and sees a cross, they’ll become a robber. Because they’ll steal the cross!
4 more levels to go so I keep at it. I would like to keep reviewing kanjis only, I think many users ask for it, I don’t get why we cannot have such side exercise.
I’m a bit late to the party, but I highly recommend JapanesePod101.com for listening practice. They have great level appropriate Japanese dialogue that teaches you new words gradually without being too much. If you end up trying it, use code: VIP65 to take 65% off! I get 2 years of service for only like $85. It’s been a really great resource for me.
