Hi everyone, I’m really new to grammar so I know this will sound a bit daft.
How do I say “this is also mine” as in “this is also my pen”
I thought it was 私もペンです but I don’t know where to put in the possessive particle
I’d love some help, thanks

I can’t get my Japanese input working, but that would be:
I am also a pen
EDIT: Although in a certain context, for example if people are asking what you are going to use for writing(and someone says they are using a pen before you), you could say this to indicate you are also using a pen.
This means ‘I am also a pen’.
How about これもわたしのです。
You can choose to put a noun behind の to specify the object:
これもわたしのぺんです。
Perfect answer
Aaah! I totally forgot to add これ to my sentence. Silly me! That would explain it.
So I know これ means “this” but attaching the particle も in front of これ turns it into “this also”
My pen is 私のペンです (polite)
So これも + 私のペンです makes これも私のペンです (this is also my pen)
I think I got it now
Thanks!
When you get right down to it, aren’t we all pens?
But what if I don’t want to be a pen? What if I want to be a calligraphy brush instead?
I’ll have you know that I am a permanent marker, thank you very much.
私も筆です
Perfect
実は…言うだけで恥ずかしいんですけど、クレヨンです。
But there is a difference between “This, in addition to other objects, is mine” versus “This is mine, in addition to other owners,” correct? 「これもわたしのです」 would have the former meaning, but I’m not sure how you’d construct the latter. Other than some phrasing like 「わたしもこれを共有します」, which is probably a pretty awkward way of saying it.
これはペンです
私はペンです
私もペンです
あぁ、日本語上手ですよ。
私たちのです, maybe?
すげえ…!
