How do I battle an onslaught of reviews?!

Hi all,
I’m finding myself a bit pessimistic about my WK journey at the moment. I had 2 weeks holiday over Xmas, for one of those weeks I forgot about vacation mode and incurred around 300 reviews. I managed to get this down to 100 in the new year, and was close to getting all of my reviews under wraps when my dog got very poorly. I missed 3 days of reviews as he had to have an emergency operation, and between the worry and constant vet appointments and aftercare I needed a few days off. In those 3 days, my reviews hit me full force and I came back to 350+ reviews in such a short window. I’m currently down to 220, but every day I get between 60-100 new reviews from mistakes of the past day and I’m unable to do new lessons. Heck, I’m unable to keep on top of reviews alone! I feel like the whole process has been thrown off and I’m losing motivation; I feel very overwhelmed, like I’m making silly mistakes and I’m not able to keep up with additional reading and grammar practice due to my routine being so off. Any advice from fellow learners would be appreciated!
TIA xx

Reduce the number of Maximum Daily Recommended Lessons?

I have it set to max so I get 100+ every morning, I just spend 30-40 mins doing them then reviewing all mistakes twice. I spend like 1 hour in Wanikani right after I wake up

I would not do any more new lessons.

Do reviews for 20-30 minutes then enable vacation mode.
Tomorrow or when you have spare time again, deactivate vacation mode, do reviews for 20 minutes and then immediately re-enable vacation mode.
Repeat this until the review pile is gone.

I always enable vacation mode as soon as I realize that I won’t get the reviews down to zero on a given day.

welcome back! you don’t seem to be doing any more lessons, which is a good start. i would recommend setting aside a couple of hours just to do reviews. that sounds really boring and tedious, but as long as all the reviews are done, you can move on to other fun stuff. good luck!

I just had the same issue and I slayed all of them in one big session. 759 reviews and 82 % accuary. I am ok with that considering how long I didnt learn here.

Wow that’s a lot of reviews to do them all in one go!
How long did it take? 3 hours maybe?

you, sir, are more resilient than some men will ever be

To be honest I didn’t pay attention to time, but it was for sure a longer grind that day
