Hiroshima-ben and Vocabulary

But it is definitely not the modern standard Japanese you learn from textbooks nowadays. Which makes sense, since it takes place in WW2 times. じゃ instead of だ; わし instead of わたし・ぼく・おれ。That one especially makes me think the narrator is probably an old Japanese man, talking about his experiences. No idea what that たん means behind 会う, there, though.

So I can’t find that, but are you sure you didn’t just hear “いってきます”? I see that phrase used multiple times and that would align with an “I’m leaving” translation.

It seems @Saida could be right as well. I see いってまいります spoken multiple times as well.
