I’m having trouble with this context sentence for 預かる:
木曜日は私が子供を預かる日。
Thursdays are the days that I have someone look after my kids.
I’m not sure why the given Japanese sentence translates to the given English one. If I am having someone else look after my kids, shouldn’t it be 預ける, to entrust or deposit? If 私が子供を預かる, doesn’t that mean I am taking care of them, because 預かる means the person doing the action is taking care of or looking after the object of the verb?

Not sure if it’s better to repurpose this thread or create a new one, but I had a question on a different context sentence. This one is for 帆:
そろそろ帆を替えるなくちゃいかんなあ。
Looks like you have to replace the sail soon.
Should that 替えるなくちゃ be 替えらなくちゃ? I feel like whenever I see なくちゃ, なければ, etc, the verb is in the same form as when you put ない at the end of it, like 替えらない.

行かなくちゃ
etc.
You’re right, it is a typo. But 替える is a る-verb (or ichidan verb), not an う-verb (godan verb), so it should be 替えなくちゃ.
