Since the heatmap script doesn’t fit into the widgets, i decided to give in and style Wanikani’s in-house version.
I was almost done when I realised that setting it to year view does not persist and instead it defaults to past year on refresh.
I like to see the upcoming days because I’ve styled specific ones to show when I want to level up.
I’m not asking for year view to be default, as I’m sure not everyone uses it, but I feel like it should remember my choice.
This! It’s rather annoying.
I wanted to make a view of all the years I was actively using wk, so I added four wide widgets under each other so each row would represent one year. However, when refreshing the site, all four of them default back to past year.
I actually think Kumirei’s heatmap is vastly superior to WK’s version. I’ve always thought a heatmap should not only show when you were most active or when you dropped off, but also include a streak counter to help build a habit. That’s why I just use the study streak widget instead of the heatmap widget. I can’t use Kumi’s anymore since I jump between devices a lot these days.
Big yes. Kumi spent a lot of time working on it, adding lots of different features.
I don’t know if Kumi’s heatmap still works, but assuming that it does – what’s even better with Kumi’s script, it has forecast. See the light pink squares during and after the then-current May 2021:
You could select and drag the squares to get a summary and count of all the reviews done across a time period. Kumi genius.
