Heya. I’ve been doing WaniKani just over a year and am at level 27, and my son (8) has been doing it about 8 months and is at level 10. Just recently I’ve noticed I’m getting new lessons that he’s already had at much earlier levels. I thought there was a fixed order, so now I’m wondering if it’s actually a bit random or the order has changed somehow? Would be good to understand, thanks.

I just checked one my son mentioned - 夜明け (dawn) - which I only just got as a lesson but shows that it’s learned at level 8. So I guess the order has changed or there’s something else going on.

Some things have been re-ordered, and some new vocabulary has been added to early levels. 夜明け was added 11/12. If you scroll down the WaniKani forum a bit, you’ll see the announcement about what’s being added and what’s being moved.

Content updates / revisions / additions happen every once in a while- there’s a section of forums here you can keep an eye on if you want to monitor any of them. Here’s some recent threads about recent changes
